George Augustus Moore (1852-1933) was an Irish novelist and a short story writer, poet, art critic and dramatist. He came from a Roman Catholic family and originally planned to be an artist. He was among the first English language authors to absorb the lessons of the French realists. He was influenced by the works of Emile Zola and was a key figure in the Celtic Revival. His short stories influenced the writings of James Joyce. His work remains outside the mainstream of both Irish and British literature. His one act play, published in New York, 1927, "The Making of an Immortal," signed number 1180, 8 ¼" by 5 ¼". Very good condition.
